Artist's Description
This image was created as the sun set in Everglades National Park's Long Pine Key. I was a bit concerned that the lack of clouds on the horizon would diminish the beauty of the sunset, I decided to take several test shots with my wide angle lens, but then realized that the sun would be setting near or right on top of the trees across the late. SO I took out my 100-400 lens and used a neutral density filter to help reduce the glare a bit. In the end, the lack of clouds worked to my advantage as the gorgeous sunlight gradient created a truly spectacular scene with the tree and foliage silhouettes.
